Title:  Missouri Academy for Leadership and Community Action

Summary/Description:

The Missouri Academy for Leadership and Community Action (Leadership Academy) is designed to provide critical leadership and management skills now and for the future.  A collaborative learning process that incorporates development, mentoring, networking opportunities and the creation of a portfolio will allow participants to explore leadership style, develop leadership aptitude, and empower themselves and others.  The Leadership Academy is a 6-month engagement designed to guide leaders through curriculum focused on cultivating individual’s skills and empowering action. 

Facilitator:  Courtney Kohler (MACA); Angela Hirsch (CMCA); Lindsey Dumas-Bell (OACAC)

Date & Time:  July 6-7, 2016   August 11-12, 2016   September 21-22, 2016   October 13-14, 2016   December 1-2, 2016

Time:  All sessions are scheduled from 10:00 – 5:00 on the first day, and 8:30 – 2:30 on the second day

Location:    MACA Office, Training Room

Additional Info (limits, meals, partnering organizations, etc):

Classes are kept intentionally small to encourage self-exploration and networking.  Registration is through application only.  The application process for 2016 is closed, and approved candidates have been sent the registration link.  Lunch will be provided both days of each session.  Participant manuals are included in tuition and will be distributed at the first class.

Fees:  Full payment required when registering for the first session in July; no additional fees for subsequent sessions

Registration Deadline:  6/6/2016

Cancellation policy:  Cancellation refunds for the training, minus a $50 per person administrative fee, will be granted upon written request to the MACA office if received two weeks before the first session in July. No substitutions can be made for the Leadership Academy.  Once the first session of the Academy has been attended, no refunds will be granted for those who drop the class.
