Description

The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is an interactive, immersive experience that gives participants a glimpse into the structural barriers facing individuals living on low-income. In order to most effectively utilize this tool, Missouri CAN encourages all CAPS kit users to invest in the Poverty Simulation Facilitator Training. *During the first day of this event, all participants will experience the Poverty Simulation as family members. Then on day two, participants will gain the skills necessary to plan, promote, direct, and facilitate a Poverty Simulation in their own community.

In order to best achieve our outcomes, all attendees are required to complete our pre-survey.  The information collected from this survey will allow us to structure our small group activities in a way that enables attendees to network with others.  This is also where we will gather information related to dietary restrictions and any other access needs.  The pre-survey will be sent to registrants when registration closes.

*Please note that the registration fee covers the cost of facilitator training only, not the CAPS kit. In order to obtain a copyright license and Poverty Simulation kit, please visit http://www.povertysimulation.org/.
